Steve is President of the Management Planning and Development Company. They specialize in stakeholder driven business planning, executive development and establishing vibrant processes and cultures in newly reorganized or merged organizations.
Most recently Steve was the Vice President, Human Resource and Organizational Development, GlaxoSmithKline, US Pharmaceuticals Business Unit. In year ending 2007, US Pharmaceuticals had sales in excess of 20B, with over 12,000 employees. He held that position from November of 1993 to March 2008. He led a team of eleven OD professionals that had responsibility for Leadership Succession Planning and Development, Designing and Leading Executive Forums, Organization and Work Process Design, Culture Assessment and Consultation and Change Management initiatives. Steve and his team have played important roles in the mergers of SmithKline Beecham and GlaxoSmithKline.
Before joining GSK, Steve held several positions including Manager, Total Quality and Management Development, Xerox Business Products and Systems Group that won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and ASTD’s Training Company of the Year. While at McDonnell Douglas he was the Director of Management/Organizational Development and Sales Training. Both of these positions encompassed responsibilities for worldwide business groups. Steve also led the development of two national recruitment and one international recruitment strategies in the healthcare and systems industries.
Previously, Steve led a management consulting firm specializing in business planning by conducting qualitative customer and employee research. This research was then driven into actions plans for business improvement and product and service design. The firm also provided change management, team effectiveness, and personalized coaching consulting services.
