Talent & Learning Strategies for the New Workforce

Chief Learning Officers from Total Energies, P&G, Intel, Jardine Matheson, MetLife, J&J, PepsiCo, Sanofi, Bank of America Amex, and GE recently gathered to discuss topics under the theme “Talent & Learning Strategies for the new Workforce.” Members had discussions on “Evolving Leadership Development & Learning Strategies,” “Work Without Jobs & Agile Work Design,” “Learning & Talent Organizational Structures ,” and more.

Some of the key takeaways from the meeting were:

  • Up-Skilling and Reskilling: many companies are working on a transition to a skills based organization. While some are going through a digital transformation, the digital practitioners are getting what they need through their functional learning agenda.
  • Value Propositions: some members shared their plans to connect job work to skills. One organization created a value proposition for employees to keep their skills updated from a learning perspective.
  • Job Architecture: the creation of a job architecture is different for many members. Some are just starting out, while others are more advanced in this process.
  • There is a desire to place the learner at the center and to design a learning experience around the individual learner. This creates an opportunity to open the talent pool and look for the non-traditional talent in HR talent and learning functions.
